  1. Are you licensed with the State of Michigan?
  2. Yes, Little Squirrels DayCare is a licensed Daycare Home with the State of Michigan. License number: DF290404015.

  3. How long have you been a child care provider?​
  4. Little Squirrels DayCare has been operating since October 2018.

  5. What are your hours of operation?
  6. ​Little Squirrels DayCare is open from 6am-5:30pm, with a max of 10 hours per day.

  7. ​What is the maximum number of children you can take care of at once?
  8. 7 children per 1 adult; 4 out of the 7 can be under 30 months BUT only 2 out of the 4 can be under 18 months.

  9. What are your policies on sick/vacation/holiday?
  10. ​Fees are based on enrollment, not on attendance. To maintain a guaranteed spot, fees must be paid during the absence of the child due to illness, vacations, or for any other reason. The provider will give each child a one week (Monday-Friday) vacation at half the weekly tuition. If a closure is required, the provider will give as much notice as possible. If a two-week notice can not be given of a closure, the provider will deduct ⅕th of the weekly rate. Parent(s) are responsible to have backup care available.

  11. What is the curriculum offered?
  12. The provider offers a preschool setting incorporating a balance of Heggerty Phonics, structured learning and free play. Each week the child will bring home a Friday folder with all their completed work.

  13. What food/drinks are provided?
  14. All table food will be provided for the children present during the scheduled breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack times. Infants will be fed formula/breast milk on demand and encouraged to follow baby led weaning when developmentally ready.

  15. What if your discipline policy?
  16. ​I stress two main patterns of behavior: respect for others and respect for property. Keep in mind that there will be disagreements between the children. The provider will try and prevent these situations with redirections and offering multiples of the same toy.

  17. What communication do you provide to the parents?
  18. ​Good communication is the most important thing for me. When a family joins Little Squirrels DayCare, we like to be sure that we can share any concerns and/or questions that may arise. We welcome questions, feedback and/or discussions of any kind. Communication can be text, phone call, and/or in-person.

  19. ​What does nap time look like?
  20. ​All children get their own play-yard/cot. On the child’s first birthday they will be moved from the play-yard to a cot. If the child is under the age of 12 month they will be checked on at a minimum of 15 minutes intervals.

  21. ​Do you have any pets?
  22. ​I have a dog (border collie mix) that interacts with the children but has minimal contact with the children.

  23. Do you smoke or allow smoking in the home?
  24. My home is a smoke free environment.
